Carnivals
School carnivals are held in age divisions.  The age a student turns that year indicates their age division.  For example, if a student turns 10 on 31st December, the student participates in the 10 year age division.  The carnivals are school house events and support for the students’ house is an important aspect of the carnival.  House groups are: Mitchell (blue) and Hargrave (red).  Teachers are assigned to a house while Year 6 children are elected to be Captain or Vice Captain of either Mitchell or Hargrave.

Swimming Carnival

The school swimming carnival is held at Helensburgh Council Pool.  Students in Years 3-6 participate in this carnival in their age division.  Eight year old students from Year 2 who are proficient swimmers are invited to participate in the Year 3-6 carnival.

The carnival involves the following events: 100 metres freestyle, 50 metres freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and individual medley.

A special event which the students look forward to is the parent's race which is hotly contested every year.

Cross Country Carnival

Students in years 3-6 participate in this carnival in their age division.  Any eight year old student from Year 2 are welcome to take part.  The carnival is held at Stanwell Park reserve which is an arduous track comprising bush tracks, dirt roads, beach run and hill climbs.

  Distances run are 8-9, 10 year (2km), 11 year, 12/13 year (3km)

K-2 also participate at the same venue but run a modified course organised by K-2 staff.

Athletics

K-6 participate in the Athletics Carnival which is held at Beaton Park Athletic track.  The event is held as a tabloid activity with each age group rotating and attempting each event.  Field events include 800 metres, 200 metres and 100 metres.

Some events are modified to cater for K-2 athletes.  For example a frisbee is used as a discus, a softball for a shot put.
