The ‘rules’ of our school are very simple:

Treat people the way you want to be treated.
  • To respect others as individuals and not treat them unfairly.
  • Listen to others and respect their opinions.
  • To be honest and truthful.
  • To speak politely.
  • To play games which are fun and won’t harm anyone.
  • To own up to mistakes.
  • Use good manners.
I expect to come to school and be treated in a friendly, caring manner. Not to be teased,  bullied or put in danger.
Take responsibility for your actions.

 

  • Think before you act, make your own decisions.
  • Accept the consequences of your actions.
I expect to come to school and be treated with respect and equality.

 

Work and play safely.

 

  • Take responsibility for my own learning.
  • Treat everyone in a friendly manner.
  • Play safely, move safely and behave safely.
  • Involve others in games which are safe.
I expect to be able to learn and play in a safe environment.

 

Take pride in yourself and your school.
  • Wear your uniform.
  • Speak well of and value yourself and your school.
When I come to school I expect to see everybody wearing their full school uniform.
Be responsible and care for your belongings and those of others.
  • Respect the property of others.
  • To not steal, damage or destroy property.
  • To care for and return all borrowed property.
  • To care for furniture and buildings.
  • To care for our environment by keeping it clean and tidy.
I would expect to come to school and find my belongings the way I left them. I respect the property of others and expect others to do the same.

MERIT SYSTEM

The Merit System is designed to support and reward the students who consistently display appropriate social, playground and classroom behaviour. At Stanwell Park Public School, we strive towards a positive caring and nurturing school culture.

Aims

  • To improve student self esteem and self image.

  • To reinforce positive student behaviours and contributions.

The Merit System is an annual recognition process and is structured on three levels:

  • Bronze Certificate + a merit ribbon. To attain this award a student needs to gain 3 assembly awards

  • Silver Certificate + a free pass to a school barbeque held at the end of term. To attain this award a student needs to gain 5 assembly awards

  • Gold Certificate + a party with the Principal in honour of the gold award recipients. To attain this award a student needs to gain 7 assembly awards.

Children who gain assembly awards will be recognised by having their name printed in the weekly newsletter.
