SUPPORT
TEACHER LEARNING ASSISTANCE |
|
During the year we will have the limited services of an STLA
teacher.
Our STLA is Mrs
Blanche. Mrs Blanche
works
in conjunction with classroom teachers to develop and implement
programs to assist children with learning needs, eg.
Rocket Readers,
PALs.
Communication between the home and school is essential and
parents will be informed of learning difficulties experienced by
their children.
Volunteer parents assist with
the programs to assist the students. If you would like to
volunteer some time, please
contact Mrs Blanche at
school. |

TEACHER
RELEASE |
|

|
Teachers each receive 2 hours class release time per week. This
is to enable them to participate in activities such as
programming, marking, discussing student progress with parents,
other teachers and the School Counsellor
and completing assessment and reporting tasks.
During the teacher's release
time, Mr Bailey, our RFF teacher, teaches the class.

SCHOOL
COUNSELLOR |
|
The
School Counsellor visits the school for a full day per fortnight
(every second Wednesday).
During this time he provides support for children in a range of
welfare areas. Students may be referred by a teacher or
principal for various reasons eg. not coping with class work,
demonstrating unusual behaviour, emotional difficulties,
diagnostic testing, having problems in the playground, etc.
Parents may also request referral for their children. Close
parent/school consultation occurs if a child is to be referred,
including parental consent for intervention. |
