COMMUNICATION |
|
Each week, a newsletter is
published and issued to the eldest child in each family. This
contains information about school events,
excursions, educational matters and whole school community news
eg. P&C news.
As this is
the primary communication mode between the school and its
community, it is essential that parents read the weekly
newsletter to ensure knowledge of
important events. A school Term
Calendar
is included in every newsletter.
Permission
and information notes for excursions, school performances, sport
and class activities are sent home regularly. These notes
may be found and downloaded from the notes
page.

SCHOOL FUNDS |
|
To
support the functioning of the school, a variety of fundraising
strategies are implemented. These include:
-
A
school voluntary contribution scheme, which requests a set
amount at the beginning of each school year. Details of the
request will be communicated via invoice during Term 1,
each year.
-
Money is raised by the P&C through the staging of special
events eg. Fete, Walkathon,
Danceathon.
-
Global funds provided by the
Department of Education
and Training which comprise the bulk of the school’s
budget.
-
Submissions made by the Principal/Staff for specific grants to
organisations which sponsor projects. These may provide some
staffing, resources or funds.
-
Transport, excursion and band costs are
usually met by the parents of pupils involved.

INFORMATION UPDATE |
|
It
is essential that the school have accurate information about
children, eg. correct contact telephone numbers in case of
emergencies. At the beginning of each school year, we ask you to
complete an information update sheet. This seeks information on
additional children, new addresses, phone, marital status,
current emergency contact people, doctors, etc. If you change
address or phone numbers during the year, please notify office
personnel as well as your child’s class teacher.
Alternatively
you can download the update sheet from the
notes page and send it to school.
Please assist the school staff
by providing up to date information whenever it changes.
This is particularly important when trying to contact parents
during an emergency such as an accident to a student requiring
medical intervention.
