Musica Viva

Musica Viva in schools is inspirational and fun!  It allows the children from our school to experience live music, twice a year.  The professional musicians share their expertise and artistry and the programs are wide and varied.

Musica Viva in schools draws together a diverse range of professional musicians who are committed to share their knowledge and passion for music.  The children get to watch, listen and participate and share in music they have been introduced to by their own teacher.  The performances range from voice, brass ensemble, percussion, baroque, strings, orchestral and rock music from around the world.

Teachers are trained in a hands on workshop and supplied with CD’s and resource material.  The teaching and learning materials support the K-6 Creative Arts Syllabus.  The classroom teacher gives appropriate lead up lessons to motivate and instruct the children before the performance as well as follow-up lessons after.  Musica Viva in schools has the capacity to give an entire school a buzz through the exciting performances and high quality activities associated with them.
