Last Friday Year 6 had a wonderful experience
with Sue Whiting, our local children’s author. We had read her
first big novel, Battle of the Rats, much of which was set in
Stanwell Park. And Sue talked to us about her latest novel, The
Hairy Legs Heist. She likened it to a recipe and Zoe and
Mitchell helped Sue make and bake a novel. It was so interesting
finding out about where she got her ideas and how it developed.
You should have seen the end result!!!!!
Mitchell had mixed ideas, characters, a cup of
coffee, lollies and guess what, the most important ingredient, A
BRAIN ! Yes a real (sheeps brain) was mixed up, YUK what a mess.
We also had read one of Sues latest novels Freaky and we sent
our reviews to Sue. She added some of them to her Blog on the
internet. Kindergarten are reading her picture book, called The
Firefighters. We were all very inspired by Sue’s presentation. |
