The performance by our talented
Performing Band last night at the Wollongong Schools
Instrumental Festival at Anita’s Theatre was fantastic. The
band performed three individual
items as well as being part of the Combined Concert Band and was
simply brilliant. What an outstanding opportunity to showcase
their talents. The Band looked magnificent on stage and played
very professionally, showing the audience how talented they are
as musicians. They played three pieces,
“The James Bond Theme”, “Bottom Line” and “The Swahili Folk
Song”. Many parents and staff from other schools
commented on the skill and professionalism of our band members
of whom we were all very proud.
Our
talented trio of Mitchell , Aidan and Ryan also shone with their
individual item, “Hey Joe”, an outstanding performance boys,
well done! This was a special piece written and performed by the
boys and certainly impressed the audience. Maybe we need to
keep an eye out in the future for their appearance at the
ARIAs. |

Many thanks to our expert band
teacher, Jenny Williams and Engadine Music for their continuing
support and guidance of the students. Thanks also to Mrs
Bradley for her ongoing support as coordinator of the Band
Program. Mrs Bradley was also responsible for the complete
organisation of the Instrumental Festival, a task she has
undertaken for the past few years. This benefits not just our
own students, but also the students from the entire Wollongong
area – many thanks Mrs Bradley!
Finally, thank you to our wonderful
parents who have spent a great deal of time supporting the
budding musicians in assisting with home practice sessions,
transporting students to and from
performances and paying for the music lessons. I’m sure after
watching this performance, you’ll agree it certainly is worth
the effort! I look forward to the next performance opportunity
– the Twilight Concert on Thursday 12th November.
