STAGE 1 AMBULANCE VISIT

Last Thursday, Hayley (Mr T's daughter) and Nerida (Tahlia's mum) came to school with a large ambulance because we are studying "Workers in the Community".

They showed us a lot of their equipment including the stretcher that can be folded up or down very easily.

We climbed into the ambulance and saw Rebecca on the stretcher.  We looked at the machine that records people's heartbeat (Maisie is definitely alive!)  They showed us pictures of big and little accidents and lots of different kinds of medicine, including the oxygen mask which they said was really important and useful.

We listened to a girl talking to an operator at the 000 emergency service and we talked about things we would need to know if we had to ring 000.  We also got to wear some ambulance clothes.

See all the photos here

We really enjoyed their visit and learnt lots of things about being an ambulance officer.
