Years 5-6 went on an excursion to Canberra from 17th June to 19th June. We had to wake up early to get up to the school at 6:45am. DAY 1. After all of the bags and people were loaded on the bus, we headed off. Everyone was sleepy but excited on the way there.
At 11:00 we went straight into Parliament House. When we went into Parliament House we had a tour. We got to see the Senate and the House of Representatives. At 12:00 we got to speak to Sharon Bird, our local member.

Next up was the National Museum of Australia. We saw lots of interesting things, my favourite thing was an old television, I've got an older one. After we saw all kinds of things, we went into KSpace. In KSpace we were able to create something of the future. Harrison and I were together, and we both created a skyscraper.
Then we went to the War Memorial. At the War Memorial we looked at many things including the Wall of Honour. After that, we then had 1 Minute of silence.

Then we arrived at the Eagle Hawk Holiday Park.
Soon after that we then went to dinner. After dinner we then went back to our cabins and when we were in our cabin we had FREE TIME!!!!! Here is a picture of Harry at night with a glow stick between his nose and his mouth.
DAY 2. The next day we woke up at 6:00am. We got ready, and then headed over to the dining room to have breakfast. The first place we went to was the Electoral Education Centre, at the old parliament house. We watched a movie with 3-D faces coming out of the walls. There was a main screen in the middle. Below the main screen were Televisions that reflected onto glass which created an effect that made the pictures look like they were inside the glass and that they were real.

Next we went to Cockington Green. At Cockington Green, we got to see the world in miniature. You could also press buttons which activated things.
Next we went to the High Court of Australia. At the High Court, we got to see all of the courts and one of them was in session. We got to see the High Court at work.

Then we had a tour around to see the Embassies. We saw many different Embassies from many different countries.
Next we went to Australian Institute of Sport. At the Institute, we saw lots of athletes training. We also got to go to a sports centre with games that were fun. Some of us got a souvenir bag to bring home.

After we had Dinner at Eaglehawk, we went to Telstra tower. It was only 6 degrees, but the view was great.

Then it was time to go back to our cabins for some more free time fun, then sleep.
DAY 3.The next day was our last day. Everybody was disappointed that the trip was nearly over. It was time to pack up our things and leave Eaglehawk Holiday Park.
Our last stop was Questacon. Most people enjoyed the rollercoaster simulator. We then found ourselves wandering around and exploring all sorts of things. After Questacon, we got back on the bus to start the trip back home.

The trip was really interesting and we all had fun (and learned some things too).
